Rooted in Community, Driven by Purpose

At the Happy Valley-Goose Bay Housing & Homelessness Coalition, our work is grounded in local knowledge and community values. We collaborate with partners, leaders, and residents to address housing needs and build lasting solutions for a stronger, more inclusive Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

Affordable Senior Housing

Through collaboration with community partners, we strive to create sustainable solutions that empower individuals and families to achieve stability and self-sufficiency. We are on track to have 39 senior housing units available by the end of 2025, further enhancing our commitment to providing secure living options for vulnerable populations.

Our work doesn’t stop at providing safe homes. We offer a range of programs that support the well-being, independence, and connection of seniors in our community. From warm meals and wellness checks to outdoor activities and therapeutic gardens, each initiative is designed to foster physical, mental, and social health. Whether it’s planting in the greenhouse, joining a group walk, or sharing a meal, these programs create opportunities for seniors to stay active, engaged, and supported.

The Healing Forest will support seniors’ cultural, physical, and mental wellness. It will include walking trails, native plants, a gazebo, and a butterfly garden—creating a space for peace, connection, and year-round reflection.

We’re introducing new outdoor equipment and guided activities to help seniors stay active, connected, and engaged. Coalition staff will support seniors in planning inclusive recreation that promotes movement, relaxation, and social interaction.

Our Meals on Wheels program delivers free hot, nutritious meals to 50 seniors every week. Along with healthy food, it offers regular wellness checks and friendly visits—supporting independence, safety, and social connection at home.

We’re building a community greenhouse focused on food sustainability and wellness. Seniors will help grow fresh produce year-round while engaging in planning, planting, and care—creating opportunities for learning, connection, and healthy living.
