We assist individuals and families in navigating housing options and accessing affordable homes. Our team works to ensure that housing solutions are safe, accessible, and sustainable.
We provide information and support to individuals at risk of homelessness, including guidance on housing rights, financial assistance, and referrals to partner organizations.
We conduct workshops and campaigns to increase community understanding of homelessness and housing challenges in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
We collaborate with local and regional governments to advocate for policies that promote affordable housing and prevent homelessness.
The Coalition is developing a Healing Forest to support seniors’ cultural, physical, mental, and cognitive well-being. The space will feature walking trails, native plants and trees, a gazebo, an Inuksuk gateway, focal signage, raised garden beds, and a butterfly release area. This environment is designed to provide peace, connection, and reflection for our seniors year-round.
We’ve introduced new outdoor recreational equipment to encourage movement and social interaction among seniors. Coalition staff will support seniors in planning activities that promote fun, relaxation, and well-being. This initiative helps reduce isolation while supporting physical and cognitive health in a safe, inclusive setting.
Each week, our Meals on Wheels program delivers hot, nutritious meals to 50 seniors in the community. This service ensures access to healthy food while also providing regular social connection and wellness checks, helping seniors maintain independence and stay safely in their homes.
Food sustainability is a key priority for the Coalition. We are building a community greenhouse that will be used to grow fresh produce year-round. Seniors will be actively involved in planning, planting, and maintaining the space—offering inclusive opportunities for learning, engagement, and healthy living.
